Fitness Worldwide Gyms was founded in 1991 in the small town of Darlington, South Carolina. What began as an addition to a local karate school quickly grew into something more, driven by a passion for health, community, and service. The gym was founded by James Curtis Boyd, who continues to serve today as the owner and operator of Fitness Worldwide.

With faith, perseverance, and the support of our community, Fitness Worldwide has grown steadily over the years. From a single 10,000-square-foot location in Darlington, we have expanded to ten locations across the Pee Dee region, including Florence, Darlington, Hartsville, Dillon, Bennettsville, Marion, Lake City, and Cheraw — totaling over 100,000 square feet of fitness facilities.

We believe this growth is a blessing from God and a reflection of the trust our members place in us. Fitness Worldwide continues to grow each day through hard work, strong values, and the continued support of the communities we serve.
